Full description
Visitors will be guided through the narrow streets of the village of Castellone, where they will find one of the most famous hydraulic works, the "Roman Cisternone" built in the 1st century BC.
The village of Castellone, perched on a hill overlooking the sea, is a labyrinth of history that literally rests on the foundations of ancient Hormiae.
There is also a visit to the National Archaeological Museum of Formia, where visitors will discover the affluent Formiae of Cicero's time, which was not just a city, but the "place to be" for the Roman aristocracy. If Rome was the center of power and business, Formia was its glamorous counterpart, made up of creative idleness, unbridled luxury and breathtaking views.
